Chai tea, anyone?
According to Anna Cole at Southern Utah University’s student newspaper, reading “Atlas Shrugged” is a sophisticated thing to do … while sipping chai tea.
“Next, there’s the chai tea. This is the tea of sophisticated people. This tea wears a scarf, those black, square-ish glasses, and attends poetry readings. The slight spicy tinge to the tea seems to give the brain a little bit of a jump-start, or so chai-drinkers would have you believe.
“It’s something that you would drink while pondering the works of Picasso or Michaelangelo, or perhaps while reading Love and War or Atlas Shrugged.”
I can’t help but recall my days in college, making fun of the students who created a facade of sophistication by reading long books, wearing dark clothes and writing in their journals while sitting in a coffee shop. But hey, perhaps by reading “Atlas Shrugged” they’ll pick up a few things about the real world outside the confines of campus.
