‘ … won’t be seeking state funding.’
Gideon Haigh in WAtoday (Western Australia) writes about the rise in sales of “Atlas Shrugged.” After recounting the resurgence (“Atlas Shrugged, which has sold 6 million copies, is now turning over at twice the rate of the 1980s.”), Haigh touches on the rumors that a movie is in the works:
Quite how this could be squeezed onto a screen is anybody’s guess, but a film scripted by Randall Wallace (Braveheart and Pearl Harbor) is slated for two years hence. One thing is sure: the filmmakers won’t be seeking state funding.
One would hope, but who knows. What’s to stop Hollywood from seeking a bailout?
Let’s just hope that the film comes out more like “Braveheart” and nothing like “Pearl Harbor.”
